What Does History Show About The Nature Of Human Beings?

What Does History Show About The Nature Of Human Beings? by Jonathan Chin

History is important because of what we as people need it for. It affects us and we need to be able to understand it effectively to become aware of what is around us. As we have looked at the course of history, I have noticed that many people have changed with times showing their nature as human beings. When you observe the cause and effect relationships and what really happens, you will see how people change. Their true forms will be revealed when the times call for it. When the situation is tough, people have to become their person 5 times over. Whatever they do, they have to do it better or worse it needed. The nature of humans is hard to understand because you never really understand what a person is in their hearts. Many factors can affect how they are as human beings.

When someone is placed in a situation that does not make them too comfortable or too uncomfortable, they will probably be their selves for what they do. They can go about life as they have. There is no stressor that may make them want to do something really difficult or different. They are not too comfortable that they will not do anything but there is still work to do.

When people are too comfortable, they may not choose to do anything because of the way they have it. They may have things under control already and may lack options on how to improve themselves and the current situation. They may lack the motivation to do something because there is nothing that they can really do or have to do. On the other hand, if a person is overstressed on something such as in a job, they may choose to take a higher role in what they do. They may want to do extra work when it is required because it can help them achieve what they want to. Their skills as a person may improve because they are forced to bring out the best in their abilities. What they have, they have to make better to meet the demands of the situation. They may have to take a different approach or they may have to do something drastic that is out of their element. Sometimes doing something not accustomed to what we are normally makes us stronger human beings. It is the true human nature that is affected by what the demand of the situation is. Human nature changes with the times. Why did normal peasants decide to take action in the Mao crisis? Why did George Washington response when the situation was so bleak? These people were all something but they changed their outlook, their self to meet the problem.

It is the true human nature to question and to fight things that do not make sense or is wrong. People have feelings and are smart people who live life. When they meet something that is different, they will say why is that different, or why is this wrong? People question things because they want to learn. People everyday, no matter how lazy or well off they are, question things for the way they are. They may ask simple questions or they may ask complex thought provoking questions. When the problems are solved, soon another question will be asked. Why do kids always ask questions, why do people always want to read because they like to ask questions. It is a part of life because it moves everyone forward. People will never be able to move forward unless they know more. How did we evolve from the caveman, we had to ask questions, we had to do the work until we found the true meaning. Many past leaders have asked questions like why are we oppressed, or why does this not feel right? They have sought answers to these problems thus moving history along.

Lastly, history shows that there are three types of people, people who take advantage of others, people who sit around and do nothing and people who help others. These can be broken down further into people who are nice, people who are bad, people who are greedy, etc. Over the course of what has happened, people have obviously taken advantaged of people they view as worthless or easy. Some of these people include colonists, evil rulers and much more. They take advantage of people because it is their human nature to find what is best for themselves and not for others. People who do not do anything can be bad or good natured but do not really show it. They can be the nicest person but there is no point if they do not help people who need help. They are people who are usually undecided on matters that require a lot of thought. The last group is people who want to help others. These people want to help others because they feel that they may be fortunate, they may help people because they are generally good natured. Helping someone is rewarding to them because of the way they think. When you look at history, you see people who fall into these three groups on every few pages. This is so because there is always bad, good and even people in this world. When there is good there is always bad because good inspires bad people. If you look at the parts of a revolution, you will see that it takes an evil natured person to start something that normal people will agree is wrong. Then a good group of people finally muster the strength to do something about the situation. Then they surround the middle people that do not really care about what happens and have no part in the revolution. A revolution is a cycle that has happened many times in the past. Some revolutions include the American Revolution, the Chinese revolution and more. I do not know but I think there will be more revolutions in the near future. What happens in history, killings, debates, games, ideas all show how people react to things. Certain people react differently because they share different ideals. These ideals are evident in history.

In the end, human nature is just like people normally act and how they act when faced with new situations. Sometimes these are considered strong points because their nature is clearly shown. When you look at past leaders, some of them have really shown who they are when they rosed for the occasion. Same for people who are evil. It is important to understand because you will better understand events and people.
